Our Services

OUR TEAM at EMCO is dedicated to finding the best and most cost-efficient solutions to provide its principals with smooth crew change operations while allowing for any specific instructions by principal to be carried out in parallel.

EMCO’s team monitors closely with principals of arriving vessels prior to their arrival while advising and arranging matters of flights, airport transfers, hotel accommodation (if required) and any other requirements for smooth operation. Through providing a 24-hour airport transfer through its vehicles, EMCO provides its principals with all the necessary aspects for a successful operation.

PRINCIPALS are advised to contact EMCO’s operations team via email prior to vessel’s arrival to allow for sufficient planning and valuable advice regarding flights, accommodation, and formalities.

Since EMCO provides its services through Cairo Airport and Alexandria Burg-El-Arab Airport while covering over 10 Egyptian ports, it is important to select a favored airport for crew change procedures to allow for a more time-saving and cost-efficient operation.

The following documents are required upon arrival:


  • Valid seaman's book & travel passport.
  • An introductory letter from the owners stating vessel's name, the port ship arrives and the Canal agent's name.
  • Contract of employment.
  • Officers should also carry their license of competency.

Entry Visa to Egypt

Entry Visa may be purchased upon arrival at Cairo Airport. However, for nationals of some countries, the Egyptian Authorities require securing a visa before arrival in Cairo. Nationals of the following countries are expected to send data and information, including a copy of their passport and visa, to EMCO 72 hours prior to arrival at Cairo Airport

Parcel Delivery

Our Services

Our team at EMCO understands the urgency and necessity of delivering parcels, spare parts and documents from owners to their vessels at different ports. Our offices in Alexandria, Cairo, Portsaid and Suez coordinate together and with principals of their current vessels to provide the fastest, most convenient and most cost-efficient method of delivering packages to vessels.

General Information:


  • The Phrase "SPARE PARTS/DOCUMENTS/MEDICINE IN TRANSIT" should be clearly stated on the AWB and of the Parcel’s commercial invoice.
  • A copy of the AWB along with copies of all related documents such as Commercial Invoices, Customs Invoices, Packing Lists and any other documents should be sent to EMCO operations team via email.
  • In case the parcel’s outer box is made of Timber, Fumigation stamp should be stamped on all box sides. Fumigation Certificate must be included with dispatching documents and a copy of it to be sent to EMCO operations team via email.
  • In case the parcel includes medicine, Non-Narcotic Certificate must be included with dispatching docs and a copy of it to be sent to EMCO operations team via email.



  • The time it takes to clear parcel from customs varies based on the content of the parcel. Excluding Friday and Saturday being the official weekend in Egypt, clearance time is:
    • Approximately 5 working days for normal spare parts
    • Approximately 10-15 working days for medicine/chemicals
    • Approximately 7-10 working days for parcels coming from Japan, to allow time to be checked/inspected by Radiation Committee before being cleared

Cash To Master

Our Services

Our team at EMCO understands the importance and necessity of Masters carrying precise amounts of cash for various purchases and operations. Principals all over the world can transfer the required funds to any of many local and international banks that EMCO works with and our operations team will hand in the cash upon boarding the vessel to finalize formalities.

Principals are advised to contact our office prior to vessel's arrival with its required amount, currency, and notes of Cash to Master as well as Vessel's ETA and port of arrival. Our team will gladly assist with sending all bank details and charges to our principals to allow for a swift money transfer transaction. Once remittance receipt is received on our email, our operations team will proceed with arranging the required banknotes to be handed over to master upon berthing. Once Cash his handed to master our operations team will send a scanned copy of the "CASH RECIEPT" signed and stamped by Master.
EMCO handles Cash to Master services for all ports of Egypt. Cash to Master Services is not allowed for vessels transiting the Suez Canal as this is considered smuggling foreign currency by the Egyptian Government.

Provisions and Stores

Our Services

EMCO understands that vessels cutting long distances at sea may require ship supplies and provisions being delivered on board upon arriving to Egyptian Ports. EMCO ensures the delivery of high-quality supplies through its local suppliers and ship chandlers at best possible prices for provisions, stores, fresh water, consumables and any materials needed on board.


Our operations team laisse with local ship chandlers to remove desired quantity of garbage and/or sludge from vessel during its port stay. Upon berthing, our representatives board the vessel to finalize formalities during which they arrange with Master about desired time for garbage and/or sludge disposal. Once removed, our operations team sends a scanned copy of Garbage Disposal Receipt to vessel owner signed and stamped by Master of vessel. Cost of garbage and/or sludge disposal can be paid in cash by master upon removal or added to final DA following email approval from vessel’s principal. 


Our team provides garbage and/or sludge disposal services for all Egyptian ports including vessels transiting Suez Canal. 

Sludge and Garbage Disposal

Our Services

EMCO understands that vessels cutting long distances at sea may require the disposal of wastes such as garbage and sludge. Price and regulations vary from one port to the other in Egypt while the services are always there and covered by our team. Masters of vessels are advised to contact EMCO team via email asking about sludge and garbage removal upon arriving. 


 


Once confirmation is received, our operations team laisse with port authorities to provide the required tonnage to vessel. Upon berthing, our representatives board the vessel to finalize formalities during which they arrange with Master about desired time for bunker provisions. Once received, our operations team sends a scanned copy of Bunker Supply Receipt to vessel owner signed and stamped by Master of vessel. Cost of Bunkering can be paid in cash by master upon removal or added to final DA following email approval from vessel’s principal. 


Our team provides garbage and/or sludge disposal services for all Egyptian ports including vessels transiting Suez Canal.

 

Bunker and Fresh Water Supply

Our Services

EMCO understands that vessels cutting long distances at sea may require the resupply of Fresh Water, Diesel Oil, Petrol or any other Bunkering Services. Masters of vessels are advised to contact EMCO team via email asking about available bunker services prior to arriving to its port of call.Our team checks with port authorities for bunkering services provided at the vessel’s port of call and provides a quotation to Master and vessel’s principal for the required amount of bunkering.
