Adabiya is situated on the western coast of the Suez Gulf 17km south of Suez City. It acts as one of the prime Red Sea Ports due to its services provided and strategic location. It is the closest Port to Cairo located only 140km to the East of the capital and connected through an intense network of roads to various cities in Egypt.

Approach Area

Inner anchorage area as controlled by Suez Canal Authority and the reception of vessels is done on the anchorage in the waiting area.

Pilotage is compulsory, and performed by pilots of the Suez Port. Available by night and day. Provided with navigational and electronic aids necessary for safe navigation 24 hours\daily.

Port Restrictions

  • No Maneuvering after sunset for Quay number 5, 9, 64, 65, 82, 85
  • Timber only discharged onto floating barges at inner anchorage
  • Pilotage is compulsory for all types of vessels except that of tonnage less than 300 tons.
  • 96 tugboats are available at the Alexandria port (vessels with length less than 275 ft are not tugged).
